Colombo is the largest city in Sri Lanka, and economic capital. Located in the south-west coast, adjacent to the Coty. A population of 647 thousand people in an area of 642 square kilometers.

Hundreds of years ago was known to the Colombo traders Romans, Arabs, and Chinese. Muslims settled in Colombo in the eighth century AD because of the economic importance of the port, which was the center of trade between the Sinhalese kingdoms and beyond. Geography
Colombo is a mixture of plains, hills and swamps. Northern and southern areas of the city is full of hills. Eastern and southern regions of East surrounded by swamp. Several of the city of canals, including Beira Lake in the middle. Kelani River also flows in the northern border and the north-east of the city, and meets the sea at a point called Modera Balsnhalah, which means Delta.

The best ways to travel to the city is on board the aircraft, which receives the "International Airport Bndarinaika" several international flights and is located on the northern coast of the "Colombo" in "Katunayake." Handheld aircraft coming from different parts of the world such as the United States, Europe and Southeast Asia, India, the Middle East and elsewhere. Allows the airport buses and mini buses. Another alternative is to travel to the city using the train or bus. Trains run from the airport to the "castle" in the "Colombo", while up buses between all parts of the country, which makes it a great way to navigate, but it is important knowledge of the local language if you intend to use. Finally, if you are coming from India to the "Colombo" can independence trips "Indian Ocean" marine operating regularly between the two destinations.

Sri Lanka is the largest museums and collections include more value and wealth in the country, dating back to the prehistoric period, through Blat "Candy," then the colonial era. The museum was founded in 1877 by the governor of "Ceylon" British. Find exhibits on the ground floor of the chronological eras "Pulonarova" and "Candy", while the upper floor houses utensils, weapons, textiles and coins that belong to different eras
Natural History Museum
This museum was established in 1986, and presents the rich heritage of Sri Lanka, a region the only attraction of its kind in the country. Is a specialist in the presentation of the factions and different national types of reptiles, mammals, fish, birds and amphibians, along with plants and stones. The most important exhibits is Fahd "Bonanni" who was caught in 1924 after he devour about 13 people.
Colombo Zoo
This park was established in 1936 and is one of the oldest zoos in the continent of Asia. Includes about 3,000 animals of 350 different species of local and foreign, and allow several offers regular dogfish and elephants and chimpanzees resident "Sanju."
Art Center Lionel Wendt Memorial
Is held in this position a number of events Kalmsarhaat, shows photography, pottery business and musicals. The center of my favorite places among the population of Colombo.
Foundation Sabumal
Containing materials on the institution of art and studio of the late Harry Perez, who was one of the artists of Sri Lanka celebrities. It also shows pictures of the institution other local artists
